is based on the kind of small-town taverns that have always been popular throughout the Midwest - places where people gather to relax, gossip, meet their friends, gossip, eat, drink, and talk about other people. Named after an Iowa bar called Sinram's, Pete & Shorty's offers cozy comfort, a welcoming "down-home" atmosphere, and great food at reasonable prices.

It's that cozy, home-away-from-home kind of tavern that looks completely lived-in, is entirely lacking in pretension, and allows you to pass an evening pleasantly, with good food, cold drinks, and convivial conversation. (Impressed with the fact that we knew the word "convivial" and could actually spell it, aren't you?)

We knew we had to include daily specials, too, so we offered our customers meals that would keep them coming in daily (go figure), like a meatloaf dinner served with real mashed potatoes and vegetables, a roasted half-chicken dinner served with the same, our BBQ pulled pork sandwich and slaw, the famous Friday Fish Fry, and more.

We also offer a full bar, featuring the coldest beer in town. We figured this was about all you could ask for from a local restaurant, but if you have suggestions, please let us know. We aim to please.
